RATES

Now when it comes to rates, there are a few things to consider before we talk figures.

There are several things to consider when it comes to quoting for voice over - the destination (whether that be online, on the radio or on television), the scale (is it international or national), the length or word count, and the length of time it will be shown.

Try and be specific when it comes to details about your project, the more I know, then the easier it is to give you an informed quote, and the perfect read for your project.

Most of my figures are based on the UK industry standard rates for professional voice work, but if you have a different way of quoting for specific genres of work, then don't hesitate to get in touch.

Corporate, Explainers and Web Content Videos

My Basic Studio Fee (starting fee) is £250 including VAT, and includes all of the following:

Preparing your project with research and rehearsal in order to provide exceptional voice over services.
Voicing and cleaning of your audio files to provide you with broadcast quality audio.
If required, editing of your files to any specific requirements.
Studio Rental, typically for a one hour session.
Any revisions in case of errors or mispronunciations. -
A live directed session, where you can listen in by your chosen platform (Zoom, Skype, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, Cleanfeed and Source Connect) -
Supply of files in high quality WAV format, or any format of your choosing. -
One round of revisions included, as long as they are not necessitated by major script changes after the initial audio was recorded. Major script changes will incur a revision fee of £25 per 100 words.

Depending upon the size of the client and if the work will be used on major online platforms or for advertising services, a usage fee could be added on top of the Studio Fee, at a rate of 100% of the studio fee per 3 months of display.

Television, Commercial and Broadcast Content

For anything related to Broadcast Media, I use the usefeetv website to calculate my fee. In order to do that I would need the number of impressions, or the TVR's related to the campaign. If you would like to calculate the quote on your own, then simply head to the website and enter my basic studio fee, and the information required about your campaign.

Educational and e-learning material

For E-learning projects I offer a variation of rates to suit your needs.

0.10 pence per word for raw, clean audio.
0.15 pence per word for edited audio
0.20 pence per word for edited audio with file creation

The minimum order amount for e-learning projects is £200.

Audiobooks

Audiobooks are priced based on whether I am working on a Non-Fiction or Fiction project, and whether I am editing and mastering the audio for online distribution. Audiobooks are priced based on every finished hour of audio supplied.

Fiction

Unedited audio £250 per finished hour.
Edited audio £350 per finished hour.

Non Fiction

Unedited audio £150 per finished hour.
Edited Audio £250 per finished hour.

In certain circumstances a book may require more work based on research and content, in that case rates may differ.

Other Recorded Media

Terms and Conditions

After receipt of my invoice, payment must be made within 30 days, unless specified and agreed upon beforehand. I accept payment via bank transfer only. Payments via paypal must be approved of early, and will incur a 6% charge to cover their fees. There is no upfront charges for new or existing clients, however, all new clients are subject to a contract which dictates all of these terms, as well as payment preferences.

An agreement must be made in advance if payment will take more than 30 days. If the invoice is not honoured within 30 days and no prior arrangement has been made a late fee will be charged, plus a daily rate of 12%. This is in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debt Act of 2002.
